We will present a basic history of the conflicts and the historical, socio-economic, environmental, and political factors that have led to violence in various parts of the two countries. We will be focusing on the conflicts in Darfur, the Nuba mountains, the Sudan and South Sudan border states, as well as conflicts between groups in some of South Sudan’s states.
