Has former national security advisor, Robert "Bud" McFarlane, been taking money from the genocidal government of Sudan? Does he know that in doing so he would be breaking international law, sanctions, and going against our country’s national security priorities?
Yesterday’s Washington Post[1] says so (quotes below).
Clearly Bud McFarlane needs our help. Let’s tell all of his colleagues, friends, and associates that he is so desperate for money, that he is taking it from Sudan, a country with genocidal intentions and a leader indicted by the International Criminal Court.
If we don’t help Bud, who will?
Join us tomorrow at 12pm in front of 1776 K Street NW for 30 minutes as we let K Street’s lobbyists in on Bud’s latest activities. We will be handing out flyers as we try and help out Bud!
This will be a fun, quick, and hard hitting advocacy action. Yesterday’s stunt at the Sudanese Embassy yielded coverage in Politico and The New Republic, and we are anticipating the same for tomorrow.
Thank You,
-Friends of Bud McFarlane
In Monday’s Post:
“The government of Sudan, eager to curry favor with a U.S. government that accused it of genocide, sought help last fall from an unlikely source: a former Reagan administration official known for his role in the Iran-contra scandal.”
“The approach by Sudanese officials led to a $1.3 million contract for former national security adviser Robert "Bud" McFarlane, who went on to meet with two of the Obama administration’s top policymakers on Sudan and its strife-torn Darfur region, according to documents and interviews."
