Core Chapter Leaders * Managing Committee * Task Force Positions

Core Chapter Leaders

Core Chapter Leaders (CCLs) play an invaluable role in the anti-genocide movement and are instrumental in building the political will necessary to make Never Again a reality. As members of the Student Leadership Team (SLT) they are the on the ground organizers, mobilizers and thought leaders of STAND’s most engaged and effective chapters. As the change-makers of the movement, they are equipped with the knowledge, training and motivation needed to collaborate with their members and build effective chapters. Through their chapters they organize local events and initiatives that educate community members about genocide prevention, raise money for prevention efforts, and promote the latest advocacy asks, all in an effort to influence their elected officials and impose political consequences for inaction in the face of genocide and mass atrocities. They are responsible for building a relationship with their Member of Congress through these actions, and are truly on the front-line of the movement to end and prevent genocide and mass atrocities.

In order to sustain their efforts and effectively fulfill their role as leaders in the anti-genocide movement, Core Chapter Leaders will have direct access to professional resources and trainings, as well an Outreach Coordinator dedicated to supporting and amplifying CCLs' efforts.  All CCLs will attend (or send a representative from their chapter to attend) STANDCamp 2011 - a week long retreat with other CCLs from across the country, the STAND Managing Committee (MC) and staff, and organizing experts where leaders will be exposed to skill-building trainings, networking sessions and the opportunity to dialogue with members of the movement.  STAND will also coordinate monthly training calls and offer guides, presentations and other materials that enable activists to carry out their responsibilities as Core Chapter Leaders.

Sign ups will be accepted on a rolling basis.  Interested chapter leaders must apply by June 8th to be eligible to attend STAND Camp 2011.
