If you don’t want to pass a resolution, or if your state or city has already passed a resolution for Genocide Prevention Month, take action in April by participating in one of STAND’s other campaigns.
1) Raise awareness about mass atrocities in Syria.
2) Mark the tenth anniversary of the beginning of the Darfur genocide by working with local Sudanese diaspora to educate your community about the current situation in Darfur and elsewhere in Sudan.
3) Call or write to the offices of your Representative and Senators and ask them to support full funding for three foreign aid accounts that play a crucial role in atrocities prevention: the Complex Crises Fund, which funds flexible U.S. responses to emerging crises; Conflict and Stabilization Operations, which funds early preventative programs in numerous at-risk countries; and Contributions to International Peacekeeping Operations.
