Become a Rapid Responder Today

STAND is looking for dynamic and motivated individuals interested in using their talents and skills to be leaders on the front-line of genocide prevention advocacy. Rapid Responders are responsible for supporting STAND's grassroots advocacy presence in local communities through relationships with members of Congress and media outlets.

Rapid Responders will be responsible for:

First Response:
  • As a corps of highly trained activists, Rapid Responders are the first to respond with STAND's targeted advocacy activities. When advocacy opportunities arise, Rapid Responders will be expected to fulfill the actions quickly and effectively (generally within 24 hours, depending on the action).
Advocacy:
  • In order to ensure that inaction by members of Congress and the administration in the face of genocide and mass atrocities is not an option, Rapid Responders are responsible for contacting and maintaining relationships with members of Congress.
  • Rapid Responders will be expected to correspond with members of Congress--both Senators and Representatives--biweekly, at least, and to update them on conflict developments in STAND's areas of concern.
Media:
  • Rapid Responders write op-eds and letters to the editor to stimulate local and national discussion about and garner support for genocide and mass atrocities prevention.

Rapid Responders, with the assistance of STAND's educational resources, also monitor conflicts worldwide, so that they are equipped to respond to urgent conflict developments when they occur.

STAND is looking for individuals who will use their community leadership and advocacy skills to garner support for genocide and mass atrocities prevention. STAND is particularly interested in developing Rapid Responder constituencies in New York and Washington, DC, which are two critical locations for advocacy and grassroots organizing. However, STAND is looking for individuals in all 50 states.

We are currently updating and improving the Rapid Responders Network. Fill out the form below to be notified of the program's relaunch and urgent opportunities to make a difference.
