A Call to Candidates

This November, citizens will be presented with the biennial opportunity to evaluate their congressional candidates. STAND students, you among them have come to represent a major force in the anti-genocide constituency. This campaign offers you an exciting chance to continue to do so through STAND's fall campaign, A Call to Candidates.

A Call to Candidates is an opportunity for students to weigh in on their candidates policy on Darfur and genocide. The campaign will allow students to engage congressional candidates in question and answer sessions to assess their individual stance on such issues. It will allow them to educate candidates on Darfur and genocide issues, and challenge them to follow through with their promises should they be elected to office.

A Call to Candidates will provide tools for students to:

• Ask questions about Darfur at campaign events
• Invite candidates to speak on their campuses
• Connect with and engage campaign staff
• Write op-eds about candidates' stances on Darfur
• Lobby editorial boards
• Contact the media about any events that are held by STAND students involving candidates
• Submit questions to candidates at debates
